10 Days (Kenya Safari)You will find this a wonderful upgrade from the Comfort Safari. Internal travel is by land plus air. For your extra comfort, you will fly from Samburu to Masai Mara and then the Mara to Nairobi. A visit to a Masai village and a day room on your last day is included.
Days 1-2: Depart USA – Arrive Nairobi Welcome! Our representative will meet you outside customs hall and take you to your hotel in the city.
Overnight/ breakfast at the Fairview Hotel
Days 3: Nairobi to the ArkAfter an early morning breakfast meeting with our representative who will brief you on your Kenya safari, we drive via private vehicle to Aberdares National Park. After lunch we transfer by lodge vehicle to the Lodge. All night game viewing is from the terrace overlooking the illuminated saltlick water hole, a great introduction to Africa.
Dinner and overnight stay at the famous Mountain Lodge.
Day 4: Mt Kenya to SamburuAfter breakfast, we shall head north to the Northern Frontier of Kenya, past the small trading towns of Timau and Isiolo. This gem of a reserve would have delighted Charles Darwin for it is here that you will see unique animals such as the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, the blue necked Somali Ostrich and the Gerenuk…the Little 5 of Samburu. This is the place where a Lioness actually adopted a baby Oryx. Once the Oryx was old enough to leave, the Lioness promptly adopted another and later, another!
We arrive at the luxury lodge on the shores of Uaso Nyiro River for lunch. This afternoon, experience your first game-drive in this magical reserve.
Dinner and overnight at the Samburu Serena LodgeDay 5: Samburu Bird watching is fantastic here. You will be amazed at the hundreds of species. Your guide knows them all! This park has the elusive leopard and cheetah. While you are enjoying your early morning and late afternoon game drives, keep an eye on the trees. You just might see a leopard feeding on an impala that he carried up the tree and draped over the limb!
Meals and overnight at the lodge Samburu Serena LodgeDay 6: Samburu to Masai MaraAfter breakfast, we shall transfer you to the airstrip for your direct flight to Masai Mara National Reserve. The Mara is an awesome natural wonder, a place where Maasai warriors share the plains with hunting lions, a place of mighty herds and timeless cycles of life, death and regeneration. This is the highlight of your Kenya Safari!
Dinner and overnight at the Mara Fig TreeTented CampDays 7-8: Masai MaraWe shall spend 2 more nights here with early morning and afternoon game drives. During midday, we will visit a Masai tribe. Your resident naturalist-guide will be only too glad to show you all that makes the Mara so unforgettable!
Meals and overnight at the Mara Fig Tree Tented CampDay 9: Masai Mara to Nairobi
Enjoy the final early morning game drive of your Kenya Safari followed by breakfast; then a late morning flight to Nairobi. A day room has been reserved for you in Nairobi at the Fairview Hotel until 1800 hours. You will have free time for last minute souvenir shopping or just relaxing until we come to take you to an early dinner. Your Kenya safari ends at the Carnivore (recently voted one of the top 50 restaurants in the world). After dinner, we will transfer you to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where we say our farewells.
Day 10: Going HomeArrive in United States with the thoughts of the wild animals of our Kenya Safari dancing in our heads!
